Popular AI chatbot service ChatGPT has faced multiple outages today affecting several users across the globe, many of whom have posted about the issue on X and Threads.

According to OpenAI’s service status tracker, the company started working on the first issue at 12:21 a.m. PDT on June 4. OpenAI said it fixed this issue at 4:19 a.m. PDT.

However, hours after this update, the company said it was investigating another outage at 7:33 a.m. PDT.

OpenAI has flagged these service interruptions as a major outage. But the company hasn’t given any information about what is causing the outages yet.

ChatGPT has more than 100 million weekly users, according to OpenAI.

There have been a few partial outages for ChatGPT users in the last 30 days. The most notable incident was when users were not able to access web results because of the Bing API outage last month.

The story has been updated with OpenAI’s updates.
